Senior Financial Resources is composed of a team who works diligently to help you attain your financial goals.

Because Debra is a caregiver and baby boomer, she is acutely aware of the financial concerns of consumers ages fifty plus. She received her B.S. degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Central University, her Master's from The Pennsylvania State University, and her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Her career began as a business professor in several university systems including the City University of New York and the University of Maryland. Before establishing SFR, she disbursed over $2 million annually for the Office of Budget and Management for the State of North Carolina.
Debra works with several national financial organizations that offer an array of software and products and professionals to help her meet the individual needs of individuals and business persons. She attends several national conferences and workshops annually to keep abreast of current trends in the financial marketplace. The resources to which she has immediate access enable her to give her clients cutting edge information and products most benficial to their short- and long-term goals.
TESTIMONIAL:
Dr. Debra Redden and I go back a long way. We have history! I first met Debra as a teenager in Wilson, NC when she was visiting her grandparents. As teenagers we established a friendship that has lasted to this day.Upon completion of high school, Debra and I attended North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham. After graduation, my wife, Rhonda, (whom I met at NCCU) and I moved to Raleigh, NC, and re-established contact with Debra.
Around 1990 Debra called us to discuss our financial future. Eventually, we made an appointment for our FREE financial consultation. And, like most people, we were reticence about sharing all of our financial details with Debra, even though we knew her well. However, Debra was persistent and trustworthy. She used her technical skills to share her knowledge about the financial services business. Also, important to us, Debra seemed to genuinely care about our well-being. She convinced us that we needed to make a commitment to our future. We established a portfolio.
Rhonda and I decided to purchase a new home in 1993. Through Debra's financial wisdom and guidance, we had enough in our portfolio to put a down payment on our new home and also purchase furniture.
More recently, due to the changing needs of our family, it became necessary to take a serious look at our retirement plans. We had to update our policies and portfolio. Our wake up call was when Rhonda's mother became ill. We realized the serious financial constraints placed on a family with long-term care, nursing home and medical expenses. Thus, we established a long term care plan and continued to invest in our future.
In 2001, I retired. I had been deliberating on the possibility of consulting. Debra counseled me to do what I really wanted to do. She encouraged me to enjoy life, take time to reflect and take charge of my own destiny. I did not listen. I wanted to establish a consulting business BUT I also wanted the security of a "regular" paycheck. Somehow, I did not equate my retirement check to be comparable to a "regular income". I took a position at a local university as a Professor. It placed me in a higher income tax bracket and it took way the time I needed to establish a full-time consulting business. If only I had listened to my financial advisor!
Debra has helped my family throughout the years with our personal and business financial investments and planning, with our retirement and long term care planning and income enhancements. Dr. Debra A. Redden is truly a professional financial advisor. Without her concern and guidance, we would not have made the financial advancements we have made thus far. It is now 2004 and our financial picture looks healthy!
